Hello, and thanks for visiting! A couple of months ago a good friend nominated me in one of those Facebook challenges you may have seen doing the rounds - 7 black and white photos over 7 days from your ordinary life, excluding people and pets, posted without explanation. I accepted the challenge, and enjoyed the process so much that I was soon wondering how I could extend it. This blog is my answer. The photos won't always be in black and white - I've long understood how important colour is to me - but I plan to adhere to the other rules of the challenge for a full 365 days and, in doing so, tell the story of the next year in my life. Knowing how I struggle with discipline, especially self-discipline, I imagine this process will throw up quite a few challenges for me but hopefully that will all be part of the growing and learning process. There will be little or no explanation posted, though I'll be happy to chat in the comments, and I hope you find something here to enjoy.

    1. Hey Kylie,

Yes indeed! And we had a super day with a fabulous, cold, sunny ride over the Purbeck ranges, stopping often for views and hot drinks. That was followed by a bit of quiet time at home (for me anyway, poor Gary found himself unblocking a drain .... !!), and finally by a great meal out at a Thai restaurant. All very lovely. :)

Gary and I have been very blessed in our relationship. The odds were very much stacked against us at the outset, and even those who wished us well probably didn't rate our chances very highly. 23 years later we've faced every conceivable type of challenge, and are closer than we've ever been!

    1. Thanks Willie, a fine time had so far, and more planned for tomorrow!

I bought Gary the bike for his 40th birthday when he was looking sorry for himself and needed cheering up ...... it did the trick but was a bit of a cheat as I love her as much as Gary does! She's an old girl now, but still in good nick. She took us around northern France last year, and will hopefully show us The Netherlands later this summer. As for Rossi - we're all fans in this house. Daughter Rebecca once bought Gary a signed photo and film clip which has pride of place in our kitchen.
