Hello, and thanks for visiting! A couple of months ago a good friend nominated me in one of those Facebook challenges you may have seen doing the rounds - 7 black and white photos over 7 days from your ordinary life, excluding people and pets, posted without explanation. I accepted the challenge, and enjoyed the process so much that I was soon wondering how I could extend it. This blog is my answer. The photos won't always be in black and white - I've long understood how important colour is to me - but I plan to adhere to the other rules of the challenge for a full 365 days and, in doing so, tell the story of the next year in my life. Knowing how I struggle with discipline, especially self-discipline, I imagine this process will throw up quite a few challenges for me but hopefully that will all be part of the growing and learning process. There will be little or no explanation posted, though I'll be happy to chat in the comments, and I hope you find something here to enjoy.
1~2~3 Hands Up...! :)/
ReplyDeleteWell l'm blessed..My daughter was a counselor for 8yrs with the NHS, she went back to UNI and took a Masters in Psychology, she already had a degree in Psychology and Biochemistry..and just 18mths ago l've set her up with her own clinic, and, doing very well with it to.
Especially with the younger adults, who seem to find life difficult these days!
On the funny side..everyone will tell you it's the only profession she could go into with me bringing her up on my own for 14yrs...! HeHe! Bless!
Love the candle...Flicker of hope there...Mind you don't burn it at both ends...! :).
Hehehe! Just done a Mexican Wave in honour of all us 'hands up' types!
DeleteGood of you to set your daughter up - I'm sure she'll enjoy the relative freedom of private practice. A combination of that, NHS work and pro bono/voluntary work was what I had in mind when I qualified. Unfortunately my darling husband, whom I love more than life, 'chose' that moment to have a series of major health crises which saw me steadily re-absorbed into the family business. Funny how things turn out though - I'm now more driven, content and fulfilled in that role than I ever was before I left! And I loved my time counselling in the voluntary sector - learnt loads, conquered my initial self-doubt, found my stride and my niche. So the door's not closed on that either, it's all just a matter of timing.
And in the meantime ..... Peace to you Willie, and to your very accomplished daughter. :)
