Hello, and thanks for visiting! A couple of months ago a good friend nominated me in one of those Facebook challenges you may have seen doing the rounds - 7 black and white photos over 7 days from your ordinary life, excluding people and pets, posted without explanation. I accepted the challenge, and enjoyed the process so much that I was soon wondering how I could extend it. This blog is my answer. The photos won't always be in black and white - I've long understood how important colour is to me - but I plan to adhere to the other rules of the challenge for a full 365 days and, in doing so, tell the story of the next year in my life. Knowing how I struggle with discipline, especially self-discipline, I imagine this process will throw up quite a few challenges for me but hopefully that will all be part of the growing and learning process. There will be little or no explanation posted, though I'll be happy to chat in the comments, and I hope you find something here to enjoy.
wow! that's gotta keep you busy!
ReplyDeleteWhat kept me busiest was deciding which 75% of it to throw out! Yes, I did a stack of cleaning too - a necessary evil. But the unnecessary evil is ALL THESE CHEMICALS!! Gary and I have been trying to become more and more environmentally conscious over recent years - what we eat, what we wear, what we buy, where we buy it from, what it's packaged in, how it's disposed of .... This year we've also been trying to de-clutter everything a little at a time. Yesterday was the turn of the cupboard in the cloakroom, and I was appalled to see how much was lurking in there! In my defence, we don't use half of it - most was buried too deep to even be seen. But we've now safely disposed of about a quarter, given half away to family to be used up instead of buying new, and kept what we actually use. The next stage will be to work on more environmentally friendly alternatives (perhaps even homemade solutions?) to replace what remains as we use it up. I believe lemon juice works for virtually everything ......?
Deletewe use vinegar for a lot of stuff, it's cheaper!
DeleteIt's no secret...I'm a bleach person, and as we know..Bleach is the name given to a group of chemicals, which are used industrially and domestically to whiten clothes, lighten hair color and remove stains. Many bleaches have broad spectrum bactericidal properties, making them useful for disinfecting and sterilizing...
ReplyDeleteAnd, l never waste money on perfumed bleach, those for bathrooms, kitchens etc...But the good strong thick bleach that comes out of a 2litre bottle, and costs less than a pound..(£1)..
HeHe! So..is my home clean...you betcha! :).
Then you'll be pleased to hear the bleach was one of the few things that stayed - though I'll be looking into more eco-friendly options to turn to once this lot's used up, if it ever is ....!
