Hello, and thanks for visiting! A couple of months ago a good friend nominated me in one of those Facebook challenges you may have seen doing the rounds - 7 black and white photos over 7 days from your ordinary life, excluding people and pets, posted without explanation. I accepted the challenge, and enjoyed the process so much that I was soon wondering how I could extend it. This blog is my answer. The photos won't always be in black and white - I've long understood how important colour is to me - but I plan to adhere to the other rules of the challenge for a full 365 days and, in doing so, tell the story of the next year in my life. Knowing how I struggle with discipline, especially self-discipline, I imagine this process will throw up quite a few challenges for me but hopefully that will all be part of the growing and learning process. There will be little or no explanation posted, though I'll be happy to chat in the comments, and I hope you find something here to enjoy.
I had to study this photo at some length..! HeHe! Was it one or two photos...But, l did recognise the ice~cream cone and chocolate at the top there...! Nice! :).
ReplyDeleteAll the snow has gone..it's 12 degrees out on the patio..suns out, and quite warm, just back from Lidl, so the barren larder is now full up with food...!
So..l'm off for a lemon tea and an almond slice...Job done! :0).
It was a little disorienting in situ too! The flood barrier made such a clean crisp line through an otherwise messy scene. Poor Swanage had really suffered in the storms. As I took this photo, the road immediately behind us was closed off by coastguards because the waves had taken stones (some up to 18" diameter!) and strewn them all over the road. At the back of the shack here the owner was trying to sweep up and hose off around his tables, and on the beach you could walk between hip-height drifts of seaweed. Along the coast all the cafes and toilets between Swanage and the chain ferry were closed as the pipes had burst and they had no water.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you at least are returning to normal. At work we seem to have swapped snow days for rainy days which is unhelpful - though at least the forecast seems to have improved for tomorrow. Here's hoping ......
